BACKGROUND: The Alliance for Families with Deaf Children will enjoy a festive year-end party to close out this academic year. They’ll enjoy refreshments, a BBQ, face painting, storytelling, crafts, and fun activities and receive a care package from sponsors including Pearson which has donated books for each of the families. Coral Glades High School ASL Club will provide volunteers and the food for the event.

Serving parents of deaf children in the Greater Ft. Lauderdale area and St. Petersburg, the Alliance for Families with Deaf Children Family Literacy Academy works with families with a deaf or hard-of-hearing child or parent. They facilitate language, literacy, and fully accessible communication. Program services include home visits, child literacy instruction, parent education, parent literacy instruction in American Sign Language, parent support groups, and Parent and Child Together Activities.
