About Us

Message from our Leadership:

Family Reading

The mission of Volunteer USA Foundation is to inspire a spirit of volunteerism to make our communities stronger. We empower families, nonprofits, and schools through innovative and easy-to-implement programs and products.

Founded in 2007, Volunteer USA may be considered a “young” foundation, but our experience in working in the nonprofit and volunteer arena is lengthy and far-reaching. In fact, Volunteer USA has been named a prestigious winner in the 2009 Great Nonprofits Youth Thrive Award- as one of the best nonprofits in the South serving youth.

From supporting family literacy, youth mentoring and parenting programs to recruiting “green” volunteers to help preserve our pristine parks and providing training to teens so they can help their neighbors and communities in times of disaster – our passion is to improve the lives and futures of families, for generations to come.

In a nutshell: we develop and manage programs that have a positive impact on people and communities and nurture partnerships between the private sector and volunteer groups to transform the power of goodwill into brighter lives and futures.

Jeb Bush, honorary chair, Board of Directors
Liza McFadden, president, Volunteer USA Foundation
